Each spring hundreds of thousands of wild animals and birds find themselves in peril.

Cat attacks, road accidents and destroyed nests are all threats they face as well as unwarranted human intervention when they appear to be orphaned or abandoned.

Taking the right action quickly can literally make the difference between life and death.

HelpWildlife.co.uk is a website dedicated to helping the public know what to do when faced with a wild bird or animal who may need help. The site offers honest, expert advice about when you should and should not get involved and tips on how to handle and contain wildlife. We also have a directory of more than 400 UK wildlife rescue organisations you can contact for help.

We are asking animal lovers on the internet to help us spread the word and help as many animals as possible this spring. You can help by:-

· Downloading our poster and asking your vets, pet shops, post offices and anywhere else you can think of to display it.

· Posting this message to any animal forums of which you are a member. If possible, ask the admin team to "sticky" it  so that anyone who needs advice about wildlife this spring can find it easily

· Help us to update and enhance our listings by letting us know about any rescue organisations in your area which are not listed (or any listed which might no longer operate)
